Approximately 15% of Seniors are Food Insecure

A new study that was conducted for the Meals on Wheels Research Foundation found that nearly 15 percent of American senior citizens are "food insecure" - that is, they are at risk of hunger because of a lack of food.

Making the problem worse is that food insecurity is associated with poor health outcomes, including limitations in activities of daily living and reduced nutrient intakes.
